Youth Ambassadors for the European Code Against Cancer Initiative: A call to action

Abstract

Our letter and call to action relate to the 4th edition of the European Code against Cancer published as a Special Issue of Cancer Epidemiology [1]. As a part of the European Union (EU) Joint Action “European Partnership for Action Against Cancer (EPAAC)”, in 2015 the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECLs)—a non-profit umbrella organization representing national cancer leagues across Europe (https://www.europeancancerleagues.org/ accessed 01/10/2020)—launched a program entitled “Youth Ambassadors (YAs) for the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC)”.

The aim of the initiative was to bring together highly motivated students and young professionals from countries of the WHO European region to challenge and train them to become future cancer prevention leaders and advocators at both national and international levels...
