Abstract
The great inquiries opened by the portuguese kings from 1220 are a major richness of the medieval portuguese documentation, and the works (generally selective) of the medievalists are many to use of them. Even though the methods of testimonies' collect and account vary along the time, we have a lot of systematized informations, relative to the jurisdiction and, more incidentally, to the administrative geography, material culture, etc., i.e. the principal factors of the spatial organization at the little scale. The repetition of the inquiry in the same places allows, moreover, to introduce a diachronic dimension in studies which are generally synchronic. Taking advantage of a recent research program (Regnum Regis) intended to exploit this corpus more systematically, we purpose here to present this kind of source, stressing on her potentialities for a study of the territorialisation.
