Abstract
O tema do artigo é o elefante que os reis de Portugal enviaram, em 1549, ao seu neto D. Carlos, príncipe de Espanha. Nele defende-se a possibilidade de esse animal exótico ter passado em Montemor-o-Novo e estar representado num fresco da ermida de São Pedro.
This article is about an elephant sent by the Portuguese King and Queen to their grandson Carlos, Prince of Spain, in 1549. It presents the possibility that the exotic animal would went through Montemor-o-Novo. And, in this case, it would be the elephant who is printed in a fresco picture of São Pedro Chapel.
