Abstract
After 85 years of the general strike of January 18, 1934, many dozens of people gather near the cemetery in Marinha Grande. Among these, a glassmaker, with the clothes, the bicycle, the lunch basket and the glassware bottle as used that day, 85 years ago. Inside the cemetery, union leaders read a list and indicate to those who accompany them the names of all those who are buried there and who participated in the insurrectional action. Flowers are placed in all graves. Red carnations! How can such an event be, after so much time, the object of remembrance of a community and how this collective memory has become an emblem of this community is what we intend to address.
