Abstract

Sonae Sierra is one of the five largest shopping and leisure center developers in Europe, but it is number one when it comes to corporate responsibility. The company has focused its attention not on the quantity or size but on the quality of its work, striving to always stay ahead and be seen as the best specialist in the sector in Europe. Sonae Sierra’s commitment to sustainable practices has been long-lasting. Since its foundation in 1989, social and environmental responsibilities have played a part in the organization’s strategic decisions. This case study aims to guide you through Sonae Sierra’s evolution and achievements, while providing some examples of best practices at the company and making clear the advantages of investing in a triple bottom line.
