Abstract
Embark on an historical and gastronomic journey in Amadora, Portugal. This exhibition catalog takes us on a journey through time that looks at our collective heritage around bread, an ancient food resource that has consistently maintained its prominence in the Mediterranean diet. From an archaeological perspective, we analyse the natural resources of the territory of Amadora and how they have promoted the establishment of dozens of mills and bakeries in the 19th century, as well as the transformations of the 20th century that culminated in the first bread factories of the municipality.
