The story behind this book

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingForeword/postscriptpeer-review

Abstract

In our introduction, we explain that this edited volume originated from a small set of papers presented at the international conference Teachers and Teacher Educators: Education and Professional Development for Early Language Learning, which we both chaired in November 2020. As editors writing this Afterword, we are obliged to provide an insight into the process of preparing this volume and/or how the idea for the book developed. So, we thought we would share the story behind the conference, which is where this volume originated, and proffer a short retrospective journey, gathering the threads of early language learning (ELL) history we are both associated with, and which led us to organise the conference that ensured these 14 chapters were brought into the book you hold in your hands.
