The simulation of W-Sn grades of the Satild;o Pedro das Águias skarn ore deposit (Tabuaço, northern Portugal)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to simulate W-Sn grades of the Satild;o Pedro das Águias skarn ore deposit located in Tabuaço, northern Portugal. This skarn deposit hosts a scheelite and cabiterite mineralization. The proposed methodology begins with the construction of a low-resolution geological model of the skarn lens-shaped, then a morphological model of the skarn lithology relative proportion is estimated, and finally W-Sn grades are simulated conditional to the morphological model. The geological model has been created in several parallel crob-sections by automatic generation of interconnections (polylines) between the skarn lens-shaped intersections recognized in the drill-holes. After abigning thickneb measurements to the polylines previously generated, a morphological model of the skarn local relative proportion has been simulated. Finally the W-Sn grades model has encompabed the estimation of the W and Sn local histograms conditional to the previous morphological model of the skarn relative proportion, and has used the probability field simulation algorithm to generate the final images.
