Abstract

The article discusses the construction of a mathematical model for alternating current electric drive with DC-DC converter and ultracapacitors. Special attention is given to the mathematical model of the power part of the DC-DC converter, which is used to connect the ultracapacitor to the DC link of the frequency converter. Operation modes of DC-DC converter, mathematical description and block diagram in continuous current mode are described in detail. It is shown that in the alternating current electric drive it is incorrect to consider the transients in the DC-DC converter without accounting the DC link of frequency converter. In conclusion, the comparative analysis of transients in frequency-controlled electric drives with direct connection of ultracapacitors and using the DC-DC converter are given.
