Abstract
Uma avaliação inédita da experiência de introdução da Matemática Moderna nos liceus portugueses iniciada em 1963 é discutida neste artigo e confrontada com outros documentos da época, alguns também inéditos. As limitações da avaliação são discutidas e enquadram-se as reações negativas dos responsáveis pela experiência numa mudança de objetivos para a reforma, que, a partir de 1968 se dirige à generalidade dos alunos e não apenas a um grupo selecionado.
An unpublishedevaluation of the experience of introducing Modern Mathematics in Portuguese liceusthat began in 1963 is discussed in this article and compared with other documents of the time, some also unpublished. The limitations of the evaluation are discussed and the negative reactions of those responsible for the experience are framed in a changeof objectives for the reform, which, from 1968 onwards is directed to the majority of students and not only to a selected group.
