Abstract

The CoSpaces training system has been developed in order to organize the set of functions that work together towards the goals of training in the CoSpaces project. The system is realised around a set of principles that identify the fundamental aspects considered in its design, development and implementation, which are: dynamic training curriculum; reference training programmes; effective training implementation; methodology-based development; valuable marketing and communication; appropriate technological infrastructures; accountable training activities. System design is rooted on a well-established instructional system development model that allows the structured approach to system design in a way that is simple, reliable, supporting self-adjustment and applicable to a wide range of training needs. System governance is realised with the support of a knowledge model constructed to represent a key set of interrelated elements, allowing reasoning/inspection on training system knowledge on five key dimensions: input sources; training content; training curriculum; training programmes; and training execution.
