Abstract

The Italian traveller Gemelli Careri dedicated on of the volumes of his Giro del Mondo to his real and/or alleged travels in China. The sources of this works are
analysed with a view to determining if Gemelli Careri’s voyages were in fact real, or totally imaginary.
