Abstract

The present article focuses on the amuletic cylindrical pendants, a particular type of jewellery that appeared in Egypt during the Middle Kingdom. Based on a survey of the exemplars known, we intent to revisit some theories about these objects, in order to understand who used the amuletic cylindrical pendants, when and with which purpose.
