Abstract

Acyl transfer from acetyl cyanide to either the oxygen of PhNHOH, the nitrogen of MeNHOMe, or the sulphur of PhCH 2 SH proceeds via tetrahedral intermediates that are readily detected by 1 H and 13 C n.m.r. spectroscopy.
