Abstract

In this Session were presented up-to-date results on the broad topic of Inference and Estimation in Mixed Linear Models, namely those related with the most recent research work being done in this area in several Universities in Portugal, in areas such as:

  • advances in distribution theory enabling testing of hypotheses of the error structure
  • new techniques for obtaining Maximum Likelihood Estimators for non-orthogonal models
  • optimization results for orthogonal and error-orthogonal models
  • studies on the structure of Mixed Linear Models, aiming at solving inference problems
  • other related topics
