Abstract

In this article is at stake a tentative dialogue, that often is not conciliatory, between phenomenology and psychoanalysis. It starts from an opposition between both. On the one side, we have an interrogation based on the primacy of the Erlebniss and of the acts of consciousness, on the other, we have a theory and a clinical setting that, at first, places the essential aspects of psychic life in that which escapes consciousness and determines its contents by means of processes that are foreign to those consciousness can immediate recognize as its own. The set of these process is called unconscious. To this concept, originated in the philsophical field, the freudian theory gives a new meaning according to which not only does the unconscious determine consciousness, but it is also ignored by consciousness. What is consciousness' place in the realm of the mind, then?
