Abstract
Simulation is an important component in the framework of the shopfloor reengineering of the post press book production area. A general approach for the support of the life cycle of such kind of production systems is presented. A simulation environment is introduced in this context, with a particular emphasis on its contribution to the reengineering and evaluation steps. The simulation tool is also discussed in terms of its role as a training tool.
