Abstract
This chapter reviews the most relevant and up-to-date information on prostatic artery embolization (PAE) for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Focus is given on current medical and surgical therapies for BPH, imaging evaluation of BPH, and pre-procedural patient evaluation. The PAE technique is fully described, reviewing the prostatic artery anatomy relevant for embolization and some tips and tricks supported by illustrative figures. Finally, we review the results of PAE based on the most recent publications and the posttreatment follow-up with imaging applications.
