Abstract

Currently, the healthcare sector is transforming rapidly toward a computing-based approach. Some factors such as live data assessment make cloud computing incompatible with healthcare requirements. Healthcare has an excellent need for edge computing as one of Industry 5.0's major technologies that solve computational and processing issues in healthcare. However, edge computing paradigms pose huge risks to the privacy and security of data, especially, in the healthcare environment. A categorization of threats is required to cope with the diversity and complexity of threats that can impact various functions and components of healthcare. To simplify the security challenges associated with edge computing in healthcare and to emphasize the importance of multi-layer security, a SAFE-HEALTH frame-work for a secure healthcare system based on edge computing is proposed. The paper also points out the significance of security measures in identifying attacks at every healthcare system level and provides potential solutions to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
