Abstract

Data collected by the research team of the project MedCrafts – Crafts Regulation in Portugal in the Late Middle Ages (14th-15th centuries). It comprises information on over 600 legislative items related to crafts in Portugal between the 14th and 16th centuries, with a focus on the cities of Braga, Porto, Coimbra, Lisbon, and Évora. Each row in the dataset represents a distinct legislative item. This dataset was funded by Portuguese funds through FCT (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology) as part of the MedCrafts project (Ref. PTDC/HAR-HIS/31427/2017). Version 3.0 is the most up-to-date version of the database and should be used for future research.
