Abstract

Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos’ work was strongly influenced by literature, namely by Jorge Luis Borges’ narrative. The library, the labyrinth and the Aleph are three elements emphasized in his paintings and public art, as the Entrecampos metro station, in Lisbon. In this paper, the Polysystem Theory help us to understand this connection and the relations between Portugal and Hispanic America.
