Profile shape analysis of XRD peaks of a quenched tool steel

Abstract

The characterisation of the martensitic structure, by means of the shape profile analysis of the X-ray diffraction peaks, has been carried out in a quenched tool steel (AISI H11). The calculation of the more relevant structural parameters, such as the average coherency domain size and the average quadratic strain, have been performed by using different models.
