Abstract

This research note investigates the reliability of the Occupational Stress Inventory (OSI) in its Portuguese version as well as the validity of four of its scales — job satisfaction, mental ill health, physical ill health and Type A behaviour. Estimates of reliability obtained by the average item–total correlation coefficients are all statistically significant. Acceptable convergent validity was also found for the job satisfaction, mental ill health and physical ill health scales.
