Abstract

The resources and planning and limiting factors in the building industry sector are identified, the non conformities originated during the projects are listed, and the models used in this type of industry are evaluated, based on the concept of lean construction. The proposed model is directed to the reduction losses and to the optimization of productive processes. It allows an overall planning of different resources in order to minimize usual conflicts in this type of industry. The improvements derived from the model show the benefits of lean production management philosophies. The model was applied in a small company, as a case study, and has demonstrated to be flexible and to have adapting capabilities in the decision making.
