Abstract

Research centres to be excellent, increasingly need to develop or add skills to respond quickly to challenges of Research and Development (RD) with increasing complexity. In this context, the route passes through the promotion of R D networks where predominates sharing/transfer of knowledge and resources. In this way, the development of performance indicators focused on collaboration can help those in charge of managing research centres in decision-making processes and in defining best strategies. Applying concepts of social network theory, this article presents a model that allows to evaluate the performance of RD centres and research networks according to various perspectives.
