Abstract
The construction of three geotechnical surveys on the Pátio Linheiro (Largo dos Trigueiros, Mouraria) in 2010 allowed an archaeological campaign that enabled the measurement of the urban evolution in this area in the early modern period. Discovering a level of landfill, it was possible to collect a considerable and varied amount of archaeological finds. These included earthenware, Portuguese faience, Chinese porcelain and other more singular productions, such as a Dutch pipe or a Martaban vessel. Dated from the second half of the 17th century these archaeological remains allow us to trace the daily life of Lisbon as a city of overseas expansion, through the established commerce with Northern Europe and the Far East.
