Abstract
The Titans of the Leixões Harbour, in Matosinhos, still remain, more than one hundred and thirty years after their installation for the construction of the harbour piers, as symbols of ingenuity, technique and work. In a time of transformation and reinvention of the two Titans of the Port, resulting from the continuous evolution of Leixões, we share a brief historical and technological note of these examples of the challenges of the conservation of large metallic structures, illustrated by photographs from the archive of the Portuguese Association of Industrial Archaeology (APAI).
