Abstract
The archaeological intervention of the first stage of construction of the new parking lot in Campo das Cebolas, in Lisbon, confirmed an important set of preserved contexts that characterize diverse levels of occupation of this area, between the 16th and the 20th centuries. The oldest archaeological levels correspond to the overlap of deposits related to the natural silting of the waterfront, interleaved with the process of landfill, associated with the intense urbanistic development of the waterfront, since the reign of D. Manuel I.Their archaeological value is mostly marked by the presence of archaeological materials, living us with an important collection of the 16th century materials, with diverse provenances, including several fragments of martaban jars.
