Abstract

As the evolution of one Wilson Cycle spans over some hundreds of millions years, it is impossible to visualize its complete evolution. Thus, it is necessary to use examples from all over the world, which are considered to represent different stages of evolution from different Wilson cycles; the integration of these examples allows the understanding of the global process. The examples that are used for Geology teaching in any part of the world are always the same. Although this is normal, because Geology is not bounded by political frontiers, such approach usually isolates the study of Plate Tectonics from the study of the geodynamical evolution of the countries. This work purpose a complementary approach possible to be used in the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, that uses examples taken from these countries to understand, not only Plate Tectonics, but also their geological evolution.
