Abstract
Resumo: No presente trabalho apresenta-se o estudo arqueometalúrgico de um conjunto de artefactos metálicos do sítio de Figueiredo das Donas (Vouzela, Portugal), constituído por seis cravos de dimensões excepcionais, um punhal e uma foice. Os artefactos foram analisados por
espectrometria de fluorescência de raios X e radiografia de raios X de forma a estudar a liga
com a qual foram manufacturados e estudar em maior detalhe o processo de fabrico e união
entre o elemento da cabeça de forma esférica e a haste de fixação dos cravos. Os resultados
das análises são avaliados no contexto da metalurgia do Bronze Final do grupo “Baiões/Santa Luzia” da região de Lafões e perante a existência de matéria-prima local, nomeadamente
fontes de estanho, capazes de abastecer as comunidades locais.
Abstract: This paper presents the archeometallurgical study of a set of metallic artefacts from the siteof Figueiredo das Donas (Vouzela, Portugal), consisting of six nails of exceptional dimensions, a dagger and a sickle. The artefacts were analysed by X-ray fluorescence spectrometryand X-ray radiography in order to study the alloy in which they were manufactured and tostudy in greater detail the manufacturing process and joining technique between the spherical head element and the fixation pin in the nails. The results of the analyses are evaluatedin the context of the metallurgy of the Late Bronze Age “Baiões/Santa Luzia” cultural groupat the region of Lafões and in view of the existence of local raw material, namely tin sources,capable of supplying the local communities.
