Abstract

An overview will be given on the application of membrane separations involving ionic liquids. In particular, the use of pervaporation and supported liquid membranes for the recovery of solutes will be presented and discussed in detail, revealing the opportunities that exist for the still recent area of coupling membrane separation processes and ionic liquids.
