Abstract
The revival of interest in the medieval imaginary promoted by the cultural industry and the growing affirmation of medievalism as a scientific field has turned an expression (which is also a cognitive operator) - the marvellous - that is itself polysemic and unstable despite being omnipresent in the golden age of the Medieval French Literature (1150 and 1250) - particularly opaque and floating. These brief notes aim to circumscribe, as far as possible, the porous boundaries of the mirabilia in which a profound and complex symbolic relationship between humans, the world and language is reflected and articulated.
