O projeto Garrettonline como protótipo editorial para o património poético português

O projeto Garrettonline (www.garrettonline.romanceiro.pt), que edita em ambiente digital o Romanceiro do escritor português Almeida Garrett (1799-1854), relança não apenas o papel que cabe à edição filológica digital na difusão dos patrimónios literários, mas suscita ainda algumas questões de ordem crítica e teórica que este estudo discute. Combate-se aqui a ideia preconceituosa de que a edição online de obras literárias não converge com os princípios de rigor que só a filologia garante à representação de acervos literários tradicionalmente divulgados em edições associadas ao livro em papel. Mostra-se ainda o potencial do meio digital no que respeita à ampliação do conceito de edição filológica, a partir de exemplos retirados da investigação em curso no projeto.

The Garrettonline project (www.garrettonline.romanceiro.pt), which digitally publishes the Romanceiro of the Portuguese writer Almeida Garrett (1799-1854), not only relaunches the role of digital philological editing in the diffusion of literary heritages, but also raises some critical and theoretical questions that this study will discuss. We want to combat the preconceived idea that the online edition of literary works does not meet the principles of accuracy that only philology guarantees to the representation of literary collections, traditionally disseminated in editions in printed books. We will also show the potential of the digital medium in terms of expanding the concept of philological edition based on examples drawn from the ongoing research in this project.
