Abstract
Este artigo constitui um ensaio teórico acerca do potencial de tarefas que envolvem a história da matemática para o desenvolvimento do processo criativo pelos alunos. Utilizando o modelo conceptual de Sawyer sobre o processo criativo, e o conceito da criatividade-P de Boden (2004) procurou-se analisar o potencial pedagógico de tarefas que integram a história da matemática para potenciar o processo criativo dos alunos. A história da matemática permite desenvolver uma dimensão cultural e social do conhecimento matemático, para que o aluno se aperceba das ideias subjacentes às teorias e conceitos estudados, potenciando o desenvolvimento da criatividade com tarefas que devem ser desafiantes, envolver matemática relevante, criar oportunidades para aplicar e ampliar conhecimentos, permitir a aplicação de diferentes estratégias, com amplas possibilidades de relações, ideias e resoluções.

Thisarticle is a theoretical essay about the potential of tasks involving the history of mathematics for the development of the creative process by students. Using Sawyer’s conceptual model on the creative process and Boden’s (2004)P-creativity, we sought toanalyze the pedagogical potential of tasks that integrate the history of mathematics to enhance the creative process of students. The history of mathematics allows the development of a cultural and social dimension of mathematical knowledge, so that the student becomes aware of the ideas underlying the theories and concepts studied, enhancing the development of creativity with tasks that must be challenging, involve relevant mathematics, create opportunities to apply and expand knowledge, allow the application of different strategies, with wide possibilities of relationships, ideas,and resolutions.
