Abstract
A constant element in the Hispanic Middle Ages, coming from before and going beyond it, is the formulation of texts (laude) praising Hispania, the end of the knownworld for thousands of years. Some of the laudatory speeches that have been taking form, from antiquity to the dawn of modern times, is what we are dealing with here.
