Non-sequential Zemax{\textregistered} ray-tracing analysis is first explained for the optimization of solid-state laser design parameters. Laser cavity analysis and design (LASCAD{\texttrademark}) software is also addressed for the evaluation of the laser output performance. An example of numerical analysis of a solar-pumped laser is also given.",
