Abstract
This article refutes the theory about the Islamic origin of Arraiolos carpets industry. It stands up for that opinion because the Islamic productions were weave by the technique of “knots”, and the Arraiolos carpets have been and are today embroidered. So, it asserts that it has been an independent creation in that little town.
