Abstract
The epistolary relationship between Pessoa and Sá-Carneiro documents profound changes in Pessoa’s poetic writing, which show the decisive influence of Sá-Carneiro. Both the way towards the invention of Pessoa’s heteronyms and the essential features of the mythical configuration of Sá-Carneiro’s as the character of a poet can be seen in the dialogue between them.
