Abstract

The NMR spectra simulation of the magnetic reorientation of a lyotropic nematic polymer cell in the Freedericksz and a non-Freedericksz twist geometry are presented. The non-linear equations that describe the dynamics of the magnetic reorientation of the director field in the case of a bounded sample between two parallel plates with planar boundary conditions and rigid anchoring are established in the frame of the Ericksen-Leslie continuum theory. TheNMR spectra simulation using the director spatial distributions that are solutions of these equations show that the spectral line shapes depend on the material parameters, the magnetic field intensity and, most significantly, on the distance between the plates.
