Abstract

The paper aims to provide better knowledge of the reality experienced by the homeless population in the City of Lisbon and, simultaneously, to offer a first reflection on the effectiveness and scope of the strategies that have been conducted by the Lisbon City Council and associations/organizations that support people living on the streets. The methodology used in this work is based on the collection of bibliography and statistical data on the subject; consultation of Municipal City Plans and the launch, treatment and analysis of a questionnaire (with statistical relevance) with the street and homeless population of the capital.
