Musicological Archeology and Constança Capdeville

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The coexistence in a concert of two sound worlds, one acoustic, the other electroacoustic -- output from loudspeakers -- is a complex issue. When texts, lights, gestures, and movements coming from different artistic domains such as theatre, dance, or cinema combine with the music the result is a new language. Understanding the relationships between all these elements is very difficult, both from the performative and preservation point of view. In this article, I analyze the compositional taxonomy and collaborations in performances of Constança Capdeville’s music.
