Abstract
In this article, I will argue that in this novel the exercise of passion corresponds to the exercise of non-conformism against women’s subalternization and invisibility, empowering them. Furthermore, I will also argue that writing becomes an anthropophagic
exercise that builds an individual voice upon the writing that domesticates women’s othering. The narrator is the master of her own story and her language is crude but it is her locus of enunciation and her absolute control of her own body that preserves her life drive.
