Abstract

The kinetics of the reaction of NO with activated carbon without catalyst and impregnated Barium was investigated. The conversion of NO was studied up to 900°C using a fixed bed reactor whose effluents were analysed using a GC/MS on line. Based on the in situ XRD results, Barium catalysed NO reduction mechanism was proposed and adjust to isothermal kinetic results obtained at 400°C and 700°C. Also a mechanism was proposed to the uncatalysed reaction and adjusted to isothermal kinetic results obtained at the same temperatures.
