Mircea Eliade, un défenseur du régime autoritaire de Salazar?

Abstract

Our research focuses on the time period that Mircea Eliade spent in Portugal, while working at the Royal Legation of Romania in Lisbon. At the beginning of the ‘40s, he published press articles and books concerning not only the Romanian culture and literature, but also the Portuguese ones. Moreover, Eliade met several times Salazar and he even wrote a book about the Portuguese dictator that he published under the title Portugal e a Revolução em Portugal. We intend to analyze to what degree Eliade was a supporter of Salazar’s authoritarian regime.
