Abstract
Contra Todas as Evidências. Poemas Reunidos II [Against All Evidences. Reunited Poems II] (2014) is part of the ongoing project to reedit the work of Manuel Gusmão, putting together out Teatros do Tempo [Theatres of Time] (2001), Os Dias Levantados [The Raised Days] (2002) and Migrações do Fogo [Migrations of Fire] (2004). In it we find an author signature and an idea of poetic work, constructed first of all by paratextual elements of the book. This new edition encourages new dialogues among texts and new readings in a different circumstance of reception. This paper would like to highlight some essential features of this triptych: a reflexive writing that thinks itself in the world of men and history, with a tireless invention of figures of speech and of images of the world; a poetry which assumes its heritage of literary modernity, that has an ethical and cognitive dimension and resists through the means of language and memory.
