Abstract
A combined Light Microscope and Scanning Electronic Microscope (LM-SEM) technique for observation and study of the same palynomorph is presented. Usually, the simple observation of the palynomorphs at LM or SEM, currently, is not enough for the positive identification of the different species. The correct identification of the different forms allows obtaining better systematic characterization of the palynomorphs through the observation of the same specimen at LM and SEM. This method, new in Portugal, allows observe all the palynomorph morphologic details and contribute to increase the number of identified taxa. The study of palynomorphs is important for the characterization of palaeoenvironments, palaeoclimates and biostratigraphy.
