Abstract
With an artistic work consolidated in several decades, it is from 1987 on that the Portuguese artist Lima de Freitas presented his first paintings where the dominant theme was of a mythological and specifically Lusitanian character. Thus, he begins a new cycle in his artistic activity to which the philosopher Gilbert Durand called "Mitolusimos" where, with a mature and tendentially esoteric style, he revisits the national myths in a historical perspective and with a "societal" mission of the fine arts, where the popular and aristocratic spirit merge into a symbolic meaning.
