Lifetime Distributions: A Review

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Lifetime models are essential tools for modeling non-negative random variables. The statistical literature encompasses hundreds of different models, ranging from extremely simple to highly sophisticated ones. In this work, we present a overview of the most common lifetime distributions, highlighting their significance and applications in practical settings. We discuss some popular lifetime models, namely the exponential, gamma, Gompertz, Weibull, lognormal, loglogistic and Pareto distributions.
