Abstract

Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) process is gaining popularity in manufacturing applications. With growing concerns regarding sustainability of manufacturing processes, the environmental impacts of this process need to quantified first to draw any conclusion regarding its sustainability. In this study, we assess the environmental impacts of WAAM using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. The results of this study can be used to compare the sustainability of this process with other manufacturing methods and facilitate the decision making on sustainable process selection.
