Abstract

Nonoperative treatment on chronic ankle instability is based on understanding the biomechanics and stimulating the biologic response of the ankle complex. Mechanoreceptors play a central role in this issue. The herein text presents the most frequent and studied nonsurgical treatment modalities and the available evidence in the literature.
